LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Last month, a 48-hour trip to Columbus to see my parents turned into an 11-day visit, including 5 nights at Columbus Community Hospital. During that time, I experienced all aspects of the excellent care provided by the facility.
Weeks later, I am still amazed by not only the expert medical care I received, but also the teamwork and dedication demonstrated by every member of the organization. The clinic staff were ready to serve even as 3 people walked in 30 minutes before they closed on a Friday afternoon.
The ER doctor and nurses were first-rate in addressing my needs while working to determine what needed to be done. During my stay in the hospital, the entire team worked together flawlessly to get me back up and running. I am very thankful for Dr. Vasser’s tenacity and expertise. Her decision to have me admitted to CCH rather than sent to Houston or Austin was an excellent one.
During my stay, I experienced the updates made to the hospital over the past decade (specifically, the clinic, radiology department and operating room). Thanks to the wise financial stewardship of the board, on which my dad served for many years, you have what could be the finest rural hospital in the country.
Finally, we all know that news travels fast in a small town, so it was no surprise that my parents heard and passed on prayers and words of encouragement from the community during my stay. I am thankful to everyone who thought of us and need to let Mike C. know that I am back up and running!
