Sheriff ’s Report

THURSDAY, APR. 25

At approximately 1:10 p.m., deputy Weido was escorting a prisoner from the Criminal Investigation Office located at the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office when the prisoner escaped his custody by pulling away from him and running out of the building through a public access entrance. The prisoner was in custody for a felony theft offense and was quickly apprehended by assisting deputies. Quincey Kyle Janszen, age 18, of Cat Spring was returned to the Detention Center where he was charged with Escape While Arrested/Confined Felony and Resisting Arrest.

At approximately 1:41 p.m., deputy Mican was dispatched to the 1200 block of Brushy Rd in reference to a fraud. After further investigation, it was determined the parties had mutually agreed to a price for the work completed. Case cleared.

FRIDAY, APR. 26

At approximately 7:04 a.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 4400 block of US 90 near Alleyton regarding an unwanted subject. After further investigation, two individuals were issued criminal trespass warnings. Case cleared.

At approximately 11:51 a.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched regarding a stolen RV at the 1000 block of Mentz Road. After further investigation, information was received, and an RV was seized. Case active.

At approximately 12:43 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to a public service in reference to found property at the 1300 block of Loose Cow Road. The property will be entered as found property. Case active.

SATURDAY, APR. 27

At approximately 11:35 a.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 3100 block of First St in Rock Island regarding possible theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case inactive.

At approximately 10:36 p.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to a public service for a possible terroristic threat. After further investigation, at this time there is no credible threat. Information only at this time.

SUNDAY, APR. 28

At approximately 1:27 p.m., deputy Melendez was dispatched to the 1300 block of Loose Cow Road in Altair in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving property damage. On arrival, he met with the driver and obtained information to generate a report. The driver on scene was issued citations and a crash report completed. Case cleared.

MONDAY, APR. 29

At approximately 4:01 a.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to the 5900 block of W. 4th St. in Sheridan in reference to a stolen vehicle. After further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was repossessed by the original owner. No criminal charges pending. Case closed.

At approximately 11:22 a.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to meet with a complainant in the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office Lobby, in reference to a stolen firearm from a bar on FM 2434 near Glidden. After further investigation, information was received and the firearm was entered into TCIC/NCIC as stolen. Case active.
