Eagle Lake police investigate death of man, woman

EAGLE LAKE — A ruling is pending in the deaths of a man and a woman who died under suspicious circumstances Jan. 7, investigators said.

A firearm may have been involved, police added.

Investigators identified the dead as Michael Gonzalez, 54, and Silvia Ledezma, 51.

Investigators said Officer Dustin Blackburn about 8 p.m. was sent to a residence in the 1200 Block of Raezer Street to investigate reports of “an unresponsive female.”

Once he arrived, Blackburn “discovered the female and an unresponsive male,” according to reports.

Both the man and the woman were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Billy Hefner.

Police said they hope to learn more in the case following an autopsy.
