The Weimar Ladycats went on a deep journey into the playoffs last season, they are looking to build on that success this coming year and are off to a great start after winning the Summer League.
The Ladycats participated in the Schulenburg Summer League where they faced many quality teams and came away with first place.
The league served as an opportunity for volleyball players to get an early start on the season. What that means is this is an opportunity to get in a big game environment and play some high-stakes games.
The teams in the league were Rice, Sealy, Columbus, Brazos, Flatonia, La Grange, Schulenburg and of course Weimar. They entered bracket play on Monday July 22, and once they entered bracket play the Ladycats were on a mission to capture the title.
They achieved their goal of winning the summer league tournament and now look to hit the ground running and build off this. The Ladycats feel confident that the future is bright for their program and winning this summer league is a sign of things to come out in Weimar.
The Ladycats are set to begin practicing soon with their season slated to start on Friday, August 9, when they scrimmage against the Rice Lady Raiders.
