The Friends of Nesbitt Memorial Library is hosting two free special programs this weekend Aug. 2 – 3. Families are invited to an End of Summer Carnival with arcade games, popcorn, a balloon artist and more Friday, Aug. 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additionally, a program entitled “Parenting with the Brain in Mind: Working with Child Development to Calm the Chaos,” is being presented by Abby Cirkles on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 11:00 a.m. Library staff and volunteers will be on hand to entertain children so parents can avoid distractions.
Abby Cirkles holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University majoring in Child and Family Studies. For close to two decades, she has been a champion of children, and now as a mother of three, she is championing parents as well. She is a dynamic communicator who mixes professional tips in a playful and practical way.
The program is designed for parents and caregivers. Join us for this free library lecture to teach tips and tricks on how to work with your child’s brain to calm the chaos that comes so often with raising a family.
