The Weimar Ladycats had three of their players selected to be a part of the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Softball team.
Taylor Smith, Hannah Fisbeck and Izzy Reeves were all selected and looking at what they did on the field, it makes a lot of sense.
These three were the heart and soul of this softball team this past season. Not to diminish what the rest of the team did because they are a major factor in this team’s success and there is no denying that.
But this trio of Ladycats helped add an extra layer to an already elite softball team. Smith, Fisbeck and Reeves were high level talents at their positions, but their want and desire to be the best was infectious and drove the team to greater heights.
Smith was selected as the second- team pitcher, while Fisbeck and Reeves were honorable mentions for catcher and third base respectively. Fisbeck’s and Reeves’ legacy is now full cemented after being selected to the Texas Sports Writer’s team.
But Smith will be returning for her senior season, and rest assured Ladycat softball fans, she’s returning with a vengeance and will be looking to capture something they just missed out on this season in the form of a State Championship.
