Program to provide college tools to recent graduates

This summer, ACCSS and BRIDGE will be partnering to provide two opportunities for area students to participate in a Summer Bridge educational program. There will be a Summer Bridge event held July 23- to 25 at Columbus High School and a second event will be held July 29 to 31 at Blinn College – Schulenburg Campus.

These events will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be provided at no charge to attendees. Lunch will be provided, and transportation can be provided if requested in advance. Topics to be covered include time management, study skills, literacy skills, mental health and more. Students who recently completed 8th through 12th grades are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required.

This program is provided through a collaborative effort with the BRIDGE organization. BRIDGE is a 501©3. BRIDGE stands for Building Resilience, Inclusion, Diversity and Growth through Education. Funding was received from Second Chance Emporium and Texas Rural Communities to allow this summer enrichment opportunity for our rural students.
