Vets pick up win over New Ulm

The Weimar vets hosted the New Ulm Fireman at Strickland Field on Sunday, June 30.

The Firemen scored three in the top of the first, the Vets tallied five in the bottom to take the lead. The lead was not relinquished for a final score of 9-5 and a Vets win.

Ryker Goehring started the game pitching and allowed only three earned runs and two strikeouts, keeping the Firemen’s bats in check for five innings. Cody Pfeffer pitched the final four innings shutting the door by striking out eight and allowing only two hits.
