Columbus athlete honored in Arlington

The Columbus Cardinals athletes continued to add to their list of accomplishments this season as Chloe Ross was selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 1A-4A Cross Country All-Star team.

Ross was a major piece to the puzzle for Columbus’ Cross Country team this season.

She was consistently one of the best runners in almost every race she ran, being in the top 10 or higher each time. Ross dominated the District races again finishing int he top 10 or higher in every race she ran.

That was Ross’ superpower for the Cross-Country team, she had a motor on her that never seemed to run out of gas. She was determined to not only finish every race, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, but she wanted to dominate the race as well.

It was because of her determination that drove her to qualify for the State meet. She inspired her teammates with her determination to be the best, which helped Kaylea Foster qualify for the State meet along with Ross.

On her way to State, Ross and Foster were honored by being paraded around school in a golf cart driven by Cross-Country coach Mike Albers where their peers congratulated them.

With the pomp and circumstance of the season over Ross received one more honor by making the All-Star team. Once again Albers was present to support his player and leader as they look to carry this momentum into the 2024-25 season.
