SHERIFF’S REPORT

COLORADO COUNTY SHERIFF REPORT TUESDAY, MAR. 12

At approximately 1:40 p.m., deputy Melendez was dispatched to Interstate 10 Westbound near Weimar in reference to a vehicle fire. After further investigation, the vehicle was extinguished and deemed a total loss. Case cleared.

At approximately 1:02 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to a public service report of fraud. He met with the victim and a report was taken. Case will be forwarded to investigations.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to a public service in reference to a lock being switched out on a water meter in the 5900 block of East 1st Street in Sheridan, Tx. Information was received and a report was taken. Information only.

WEDNESDAY, MAR. 13

At approximately 12:59 a.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to a disturbance in the 5200 block of Main Street Sheridan, Tx. Through further investigation, Jacob Kennington, age 42, of Sugar Land was taken into custody for Assault Cause Bodily Injury to Family Member - Class A Misdemeanor and Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance - Class A Misdemeanor. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 7:58 a.m., deputy Wiese was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office in reference to possible fraud. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case cleared.

THURSDAY, MAR. 14

At approximately 10:15 a.m., deputy Wiese was dispatched to a construction company on Hwy 71 S near Columbus in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, He learned that the excavator had been tracked to a location in Northwest Houston - Cypress area and recovered by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Case is active.

At approximately 10:15 a.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to a residence in Sheridan, Tx in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, information was received and parties were separated. Case cleared.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., deputy Mican received a public service from a complainant in reference to a diesel theft at the TA Truck Stop. The unknown suspects took a large amount of diesel in a one-month period. Case is pending further investigation.

At approximately 12:18 p.m., deputy Mican met with a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office in regard to a contractor not completing a job after being partially paid. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

FRIDAY, MAR. 15

At approximately 11:53 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 1100 block of Robert Lane near Columbus in reference to a stolen vehicle. He arrived on scene and made contact with the victim. Information was received and a report was taken. The vehicle will be entered in TCIC/NCIC as stolen. No suspect at this time.

SUNDAY, MAR. 17

At approximately 1:03 a.m., deputy Byars conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of TX-71 Business in Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, the driver, Olen L. Moye, age 65, of Columbus, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor B. Case cleared by arrest.
