National Garden Week was observed June 2 through June 8 with Columbus Garden Club members, gathering up as many flowers as they could find and designing flower arrangements to share with members of the community.
National Garden Week is spearheaded by National Garden Clubs, Inc. a nonprofit organization headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri that promotes the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility.
The day is about bringing more awareness to the importance of gardening and preserving gardening traditions and practices by passing on knowledge to new gardeners. Most importantly, the day is about simply enjoying gardening.
Columbus Garden Club celebrated by delivering and sharing flower arrangements with members of the community, county and city offices, Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Historical Preservation Trust, nursing homes, and other members of the community.
