Union Pacific announces road closures

COLUMBUS – City officials announced that Union Pacific will be working on railroad crossings starting in March.

COLUMBUS — City officials announced that Union Pacific will be working on railroad crossings starting in March.

Union Pacific’s Glidden Sub Road Crossing Project will result in road closures throughout the city and some of the neighboring towns.

The following road closures will take effect on these tentative dates: Thomas Dryer on March 7, Ramsey Road on March 8, Lyle Road on March 9, Travis Street on March 10, Front and Milam Streets on March 11, Bowie and Prairie Streets on March 12, Live Oak and Austin Streets on March 13, Rampart Street on March 14, CR 218 on March 22 and March 24, CR 209 and CR 219 on March 23. Some private streets are also listed to be closed throughout the project’s time frame.

John Krauskopf with Union Pacific said the anticipated start for each closure will be around 3 a.m. with the goal of reopening streets by 1 p.m. the same day.
