CHS holds Class of 1953 Reunion

The Columbus High School Class of 1953 held its 71st class reunion on Saturday, April 27 at Pilsner’s Cafe. This CHS class was the first to attend the Columbus ISD system for all 12 years of school.

Eugene Schobel was class valedictorian, and Dwight Smith was president.

The 1953 CHS Class had the same 14 members that attended in 2023 return in 2024 as everyone returned healthy and happy to reconvene for another year.

The class had 49 total graduates, and many of the surviving classmates recall their class trip to Pensacola, Florida while they were in school. Class members that were not able to attend were Marlene Parks Brandt, Leona Hower West and Jack Pesnell.
