COLORADO COUNTY SHERIFF REPORT

Friday, Mar. 1

At approximately 12:45 p.m., deputy Melendez assisted other agencies in apprehending a suspect in the 2200 block of Hwy 71 S in Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, Sirterryon Preston, age 27, of Houston, was taken into custody for Evading and an outstanding warrant. This case was cleared by arrest.

Saturday, Mar. 2

At approximately 3:23 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a criminal mischief that happened earlier in the evening around the 1000 block of G Miller Road, Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, all parties involved came to a civil agreement. Case cleared by report.

At approximately 10:28 a.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to a welfare concern at the 1000 block of Sunset Plaza, Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, Damon Midkiff, age 31, of Columbus, was arrested at a later date on a warrant for Assault Family/ House Member Impede Breath/ Circulation - Felony 3. Case cleared by adult arrest.

Sunday, Mar. 3

At approximately 9:40 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 1100 block of Beal Road in reference to Theft and Criminal Trespassing. He arrived on scene and made contact with the victim. Information was gathered and a report was taken. After further investigation, no suspect has been identified in this case. Case inactive.

At approximately 9:06 p.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to the 7300 block of SH 71 S in reference to an abandoned vehicle. After further investigation, the vehicle was deemed a traffic hazard and removed off the roadway by a wrecker service. Case cleared.

Monday, Mar. 4

At approximately 4:05 a.m., deputy Byars conducted a traffic stop at SH 71 West and Bushy Road on a vehicle for a traffic violation. After further investigation, the driver, Jeromie A. Broussard, age 38, of Beaumont, was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released on scene. Case cleared.

Tuesday, Mar. 5

At approximately 1:27 a.m., deputy Blaha observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Highway 90 near Columbus, Tx. After further investigation, Cesar Apoderado, age 26, of Columbus, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor B. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 7:17 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to 1400 US 90 A Sheridan, Tx, in reference to theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report taken. Case information only.

Wednesday, Mar. 6

At approximately 9:47 a.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 5100 block of Avenue D Sheridan, Tx, regarding Criminal Mischief. After further investigation, the victim wished not to file charges. Case cleared.

At approximately 4:37 p.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 2100 block of Highway 90 A Sheridan, Tx, in reference to trespassing. After further investigation, the trespass warnings were served. Case cleared.

Thursday, Mar. 7

At approximately 9:07 a.m., deputy Zwahr arrived at 3900 block of Hwy 90 A in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was picked up by Fernandez Towing. The vehicle will be entered into TCIC/NCIC as stored and abandoned. Information only.

At approximately 8:18 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 100 block of Shult Dr in reference to a dog bite that occurred on Menis Rd near Weimar, Tx. After further investigation the dog completed the 10 day quarantine process, and was up to date on vaccinations. Case cleared.

Friday, Mar. 8

At approximately 4:47 p.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to Bus 71 and Hwy 71 in reference to found property. After further investigation, the property owner was located and property was released without incident. Case cleared.

Sunday, Mar. 10

At approximately 12:53 a.m., deputy Blaha was dispatched to the 1000 block of Columbus Street in Altair, Tx, in reference to a domestic dispute. After further investigation, parties were separated and a report was taken. Case cleared.

At approximately 8:13 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to Cat Spring Road in reference to property damage caused by a motor vehicle. After further investigation, it was determined the vehicle that caused the damage was investigated prior by a different agency. The case has been forwarded to the appropriate agency. Case cleared.

At approximately 11:12 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to 2500 block CR 106 Rock Island in reference to a motor vehicle accident. After further investigation, Elisha James, age 41, was arrested for Public Intoxication - Misdemeanor C. Case cleared by adult arrest.

Monday, Mar. 11

At approximately 10:40 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 1800 block of Ehlinger Road in reference to property damage. Information was received and a report was taken. The victim chose to meet with the suspect and have him fix the damaged fence. Information only.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., deputy Gorman was advised of a complainant in the Sheriff’s Office Lobby in reference to lost property. Information was received, and a report was taken. Case information

only.

Tuesday, Mar. 12

At approximately 11:17 a.m., deputy Gorman was dispatched to a residence on El Dorado Ct, Bernardo in reference to a theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., deputy Weido met with a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a possible theft that occurred in the 1000 block of FM 1890 in Columbus, Tx. Information was taken to generate a report. The case is active.
