Myra Stafford Pryor Charitable Trust Donates to “Save Our Opera House”

Administered by Frost National Bank in San Antonio, the Trust has awarded the “Save Our Opera House” capital campaign $100,000 to be paid out over the next four years. Born to Robert Earl and Sarah Elizabeth Zouks Stafford in 1863, Myra led a life of philanthropy amidst personal loss. Her father was killed when she was in her 20’s and she lost her four siblings, her two children and her first husband, George Early, by the time she was 31. She married Ike Pryor in 1893 and was a mother to his three children. Myra was the companion and caretaker to her mother, Sarah Stafford, who eventually moved to San Antonio to be close to her beloved daughter. After Myra’s passing, her wish was to establish “a trust created for charitable purposes in perpetuity.”

Yearly, the Myra Stafford Pryor Charitable Trust gives more than $1 million to charities and non-profits across the Southwest.
