COLUMBUS – The recent city council meeting saw the re-appointment of several returning directors to the Columbus Community Industrial Development Corporation as well as discussion on road and park improvements around town.
The CCIDC Board of Directors had several members return to their post for a term set to end in May 2026. Bruce Tesch, David Wiggs, Shalor Townzen and Chuck Rankin were appointed to their respective posts. The CCIDC is an organization that prioritizes the development of businesses and industries within the community.
City Manager Donald Warschak gave updates on several projects that have been scheduled around the city.
The pickle ball court at Midtown Park began construction as installation included prepping and painting the surface in its initial stages. Also, the re-paving overlay project on S.H. 71 and U.S. 90 in Columbus is projected to begin on June 10.
Warschak also gave a reminder that those who experienced windstorm damage to their trees can contact city hall to be added to a list to have their tree limbs disposed.
City Council will reconvene for a regular meeting on June 10 at the Columbus Municipal Court.
