The Columbus Chamber of Commerce has created a series of sessions to help train and educate current and future leaders, and the public at large.
Sessions are full days specifically designed to be packed with vital information on who and what impacts the operations of the Cities of Colorado County, the County itself, and the inner workings that make up Colorado County communities.
We are calling this series Leadership Colorado County.
Leadership Colorado County consists of nine (9) sessions held monthly September through May.
Sessions will cover but are not limited to leadership and leadership development; operations of local, state, and federal government; business and economic development; K-12 and higher education; health care; safety, law enforcement, EMS, fire; agriculture; utilities; service organizations; and community development.
Participants will have assignments that include attending city council, school board, and County Commissioner’s Court meetings. They will learn about community focused and non-profit groups and volunteering with a community service group. There will also be a legislative day that includes a trip to the State Capitol.
Leadership Colorado County expects participants to emerge from the program with a deeper and broader level of community awareness, a strengthened network, and insights they can apply in the workplace, community, and in their personal lives.
