Wintermann Library gears up for summer reading program

The Eula and David Wintermann Library is gearing up for the Summer Reading Program. The theme this year is “Adventure Begins at the Library.”

The program is open for students from age 4 – going into 6th grade.

The programs will be held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning June 12 through July 24. Programs include “Wild Things Zoofari”, Lower Navidad River Authority – “Reptiles”; Texas A&M Science Road Show; Houston Museum of Natural Science – “Texas Wildlife”; A Real Mad Hatter and Talewise. The closing program will be on July 24. Registration is open beginning May 28.

Reading logs will be maintained by library staff. Age 4 – 2nd grade students must read 10 books to receive their certificates, a free book and another small prize. Grades 3 – going into the 6th grade must read 350 pages in order to receive their prizes. For each 10 books read or 350 pages, each student will receive a ticket, place their name on the back of the ticket and place it by the prize they would like to win at the ending party.

Come out and register to be a part of a fun summer program. Just a reminder, the library will be closed on Monday, May 27 in honor of Memorial Day.
