JUSTICE OF THE PEACE 3
I am 59 years old, and I own several different businesses in Colorado county. I have over 20 years of law enforcement experience including as a patrol man, narcotics investigator, criminal investigator and chief investigator for the District Attorney’s Offices in Austin County and Waller County. I earned a Master peace officer designation from the state of Texas for my years of experience and training which is the top level, and I am also certified to teach other law enforcement.
I think my law enforcement experience helps set me apart as well as the fact that I was born and raised in the county and Precinct 3. I feel like I’m more in tune with what I feel the people of precinct 3 want and need in a Justice of the Peace. The Justice of the Peace handles civil matters, and I believe that knowing the people of the precinct will help me resolve disputes in a civil way without necessarily resorting to the legal system and the district court.
The past Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, Judge Francis Truchard, was the longest tenured JP in Texas history and was a few days from 60 years as Justice before he passed. His style of justice was embraced by the people of the precinct; I want to continue that style in his honor and also believe it is in the best interest of the people.
I feel it’s my civic duty to keep things as they are. I also feel like I have a responsibility to uphold justice and continue the traditions that have been set before me.
I feel like I am the best quality candidate on the ballot. I was born and raised here. I raised my children here and my family has been here since the mid 1800s. I know most of the people in this precinct because of those deep roots, and that’s why I feel why I am best suited for this position. My experience and relationship with the people in the county and the precinct give me confidence that I am exactly what they need as a Justice of the Peace.
