Wellness Council discuss emotions at Safety Day event

Representatives of The Wellness Council attended Safety Day at the Colorado County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, May 14.

Dr. Mazie Leftwich, PsyD, LCSW Emeritus and President of the Wellness Council and Jane Walla worked with the 5th grade classes on the importance of recognizing, talking about and being in control of how they deal with their emotions.

She expressed that it is important to talk about emotional situations so they do not negatively impact an individual’s emotional and physical health.

The students enjoyed acting out emotions for their classmates to identify. Each student received a positive affirmation bracelet, and their teachers were given emotion posters for their classrooms.
