Friends of the Weimar Library promote events

Chess classes will be offered to all ages beginning May 28. Classes will meet every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Weimar Public Library.

Following the chess class, David McCall, will also teach a Hapkido class beginning at 11:30 a.m., allowing for students to have a 30-minute lunch break if they want to attend both events.

Chess Master McCall has offered his services as an instructor free of charge for the past three years at both the library and at St. Michael School. McCall, a former educator and counselor, believes in the many benefits of chess, like improvement in memory, concentration, and problem-solving. He promotes the game as a wonderful way for parents and children to bond.

Information on real estate as it pertains to home ownership, investments, or tax advantages will be discussed at the Friends of the Weimar Public Library real estate informational program on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Weimar library.

Attendees can expect a variety of approaches toward real estate ownership and its advantages. This program, for those who need an in-depth discussion of the ins and outs of real estate ownership, will be provided by long-time real estate broker and Weimar resident, Gary Helmcamp.

Helmcamp has 30 years of experience in many aspects of real estate and will provide information to clarify the advantages and disadvantages of making decisions on real estate ownership and concerns related to real estate ownership.

This program is not a solicitation for real estate services, but is intended as information on a variety of general real estate questions We welcome all and invite you to bring a friend.
