Three local high school students received a sports medicine summer camp scholarship to attend a Texas State University athletic training camp this summer in San Marcos.
They were chosen based on their strong application and hard work as a student trainer and/or athlete at their high school. The scholarships were given by Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Sugar Land.
Ten scholarships were given to students throughout the region.
The recipients from Colorado County are Jenalynn Pusley, freshmen from Weimar High School, Natalia Ramirez, sophomore from Columbus High School, and Luke Engelbrecht, sophomore from Rice Consolidated High School.
Awards were presented by Brandon Roberts, outreach athletic trainer for Houston Methodist Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Sugar Land.
