Trauma training coming to help education professionals

LA GRANGE – The Turtle Wing Foundation is hosting a training to help educational professionals and community members.

LA GRANGE — The Turtle Wing Foundation is hosting a training to help educational professionals and community members.

The training titled, “Trauma in Children,” will be held March 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Norma Webb Center, 543 N. Jackson St., Room 108. Light refreshments will be served. Attendance is free.

Katie Gross, invited by the foundation, will give an overview of the types of trauma, the ACE study, effects of trauma, trauma treatment, and more. According to a release, Gross has experience as a therapist, therapist supervisor, interim clinical director, and is currently the LPC for LGISD, SISD, & FISD.

The training is open to all who are interested, including but not limited to: Day care staff, school teachers and administration, and community members. Day care staff in attendance will receive 2 CEU’s.
