CISD students receive awards at Wimberly Festival

CISD students receive awards at Wimberly Festival

Columbus High School students apart of the University Interscholastic League’s One-Act Play cast and crew of Blue Stockings under the direction of Lorrie Walla, theatre and technology teacher, competed at the 33rd annual Wimberly Festival.

The competition was held Friday, Feb. 10 at Wimberly High School. Students received honorable mentions and all-star cast awards.

According to a release, the historical drama, written by Jessica Swale, tells the internal and external struggles for women to receive a college degree in 1890s England.

The students will have a preview performance March 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. The UIL contest is March 9.
