On Saturday, April 27 underneath welcoming cloudy skies, the Weimar Lions hosted their annual Kids Fish event for local youth at Borden Lake, a park maintained by the Weimar Lions for public use.
There were more than 50 young anglers dipping their lines in the calm waters. Fortunately, the lake had just been stocked with channel catfish ranging from one pound to five pounds and greater.
In a two-hour window, more than 120 fish were caught. Many of them were keepers of over 20” and five pounds.
The many families that participated enjoyed their time and every child went home with prizes and gear with thoughts of wetting their lines again soon.
Local youth got the opportunity to reel in their own fish.
