I am 53 years young, and I have been the Sr. Operations Manager - Cigna Healthcare for almost 5 years along with my side hustle of brand products sales for The Brand Company.
Prior to that contract work including Sales/Mktg, Social Media, and special projects for various small businesses. I’m also a mom of 3.
With the impending leadership change due to our Superintendent’s retirement, it is crucial for board members to uphold their responsibilities. As we welcome a new superintendent, supporting his leadership of the administrative team, teachers, and staff is paramount to allow them to do their job well. I am dedicated to the duties of the school board: Adopt Goals and Set Priorities: Set and monitor progress of educational priorities and long-term goals for the district.
Adopt Policies and Review Effectiveness: Create and review policies that direct the operations of the district for finance, student conduct, personnel, and curriculum.
Support and Review Superintendent: Oversee and ensure the superintendent manages the district operations per policy and procedures. Support chain of command for issue resolution with Superintendent and his administration.
Adopt a Budget and Set a Tax Rate: Approve the district’s budget while working with the superintendent to allocate funds to salaries, facilities, resources and programs needed in the district.
Community Communication: Engage with community members, students, staff and parents to ensure transparency with appropriate information, understanding concerns and hearing praises in order to make informed decisions to support the district. Hear parent concerns but work to build a culture where the chain of command to solve a problem is followed and respected.
Drawing from my experience as a former student and parent of WISD students, I can impartially assess decisions affecting our district. My background as a senior operations manager in healthcare equips me to review policies, goals, and priorities for effectiveness, ensuring they meet the district’s needs and align with community expectations.
I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of continuing to provide a great school district in a small community. We have a lot to offer to help our kids to respectful, well rounded productive members of society.
