I, Stephen Helmcamp, grew up in Weimar, Texas, and I’ve seen our community’s strengths and its areas for improvement. From my days at St. Michael’s School to graduating from Weimar High, this town has been my home, shaping who I am today.
Now, as a proud husband to Amanda and father to Jayce, I want to leave the best to our future. After years in the job field, I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact strong leadership can have. That’s why I’m running for city council re—elect place 2 to bring a proactive approach to the table like I have before. We need to ensure that Weimar grows responsibly, with our values and citizens at the forefront.
The following is a list of my accomplishments to better Weimar.
• Spearheaded the change of city manager to address employment turnover and infrastructure concerns
• Advocated for improvements in the police department, addressing outdated equipment and low staff to enhance safety • Consistently supported the maintenance and enhancement of Weimar’s parks and recreational facilities, ensuring they remain top-notch
• Questioned to secure the best deals from our venders while improving our community
• Committed to transparency by posting the agendas and YouTube links to watch meetings on social media
• Trying to get the meeting time changed so people can attend
