I am about to be 41 years old this June.
Currently, I am a foreman for Texas Irrigation and Pipe. I have worked there for a total of eight years.
Prior to that I was profitable in the insurance industry, food and beverage industry as I have a degree in culinary arts, and hospitality. These opportunities have afforded me the ability to have a more well-rounded understanding of different facets within the career world. It is why I am a big supporter of the CTE programs.
I am running for the school board because I want to be a voice for all students. As a potential school board member, I believe I can contribute to making decisions that prioritize the needs and interests of every student, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances.
I have young children that attend Columbus Elementary and Junior High School. As I have come to learn, the current school board has no public elementary school representation. As a board member, I would have a personal buy-in for the future of our school district and what that will look like.
I know our students need to thrive and not simply survive in our ever- changing world. With the right tools, support of the staff and the community, we can harness the potential within our students and continue to make that flourish. And that is something I want to be part of.
I am a born and raised Colorado County Citizen. I am a Cardinal through and through. My entire public educational experience was spent in the halls of Columbus ISD Schools. And now I have my own children following in my footsteps, and maybe one day grandchildren. My own experiences as a parent have motivated me to step up and advocate for all students in our district.
My commitment to serving on the school board stems from a deeply personal desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our students. I am dedicated to working collaboratively with parents, educators, and community members to create a school district that prioritizes student success, equity, and inclusion.
