On Thursday, April 25, St. Anthony parent Carla Wiggs will receive the Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, presented by the Diocese of Victoria. Every year, individuals from each school in the diocese are recognized for their outstanding service and volunteerism.
Carla has been heavily involved at St. Anthony while her children have attended. She has served as PTC President, Vice President, and Treasurer, chaired numerous fundraisers including the Halloween Carnival for nine years, and has been a room mother as well. St. Anthony cannot express enough appreciation to Mrs. Wiggs for her unending support of our school and students.
Another Diocesan award will be presented on Monday, April 29 at the OLV Cathedral in Victoria. The Bishop’s Award is earned by Catholic school 8th graders that meet required criteria such as knowledge of the faith and service hours. St. Anthony will have 14 students receiving this award.
The St. Anthony Tennis team had matches at Rice on April 18. Students winning their matches were: Logan Glueck, Tristyn Radley, John Foster, Hayden Lowe, Joshua Newman, Cormac Barten, Abby Fuller, Sofia Espinosa, Charly Spanihel, Emma Beauchamp, Ellie Beauchamp, Charley McBride, Landry Venghaus, Indy Espinosa, Deacon Barten, Ryan Heffley, Matthias Walla, Mitchell Smith and Claire McBride. The tennis team will have matches at Sacred Heart on April 30.
St. Anthony Soccer teams travel to St. Michael in Weimar today with a 5:30 p.m. start time.
Tomorrow, 3K and 4K will head to Blessington Farms for a fun field trip, and on April 26, the 8th graders will visit the Holocaust Museum for a more solemn learning experience.
On April 27, 18 students will compete at the State PSIA competition held at the Texas State University campus.
