National Day of Prayer scheduled for May 2

COLUMBUS — The local Ministerial Alliance of Columbus has organized their annual celebration and recognition of the National Day of Prayer, scheduled for Thursday, May 2 at noon on the Colorado County Courthouse courtyard.

The nationally recognized day of prayer occurs annually on the first Thursday of May. It was created to unite Americans of Christian faith in prayer with a different theme and focus annually.

This year, the theme is “Lift Up the Word – Light up the World.” The theme was chosen to create a visual inspiration for prayers across the nation.
