Garden Club ladies love gardening but they are also great cooks

If you are looking for plants to attract pollinators in your yard or you are looking for plants for sun or shade, you will find just what you need at the Columbus Garden Club Plant Sale this Saturday, April 27 at 8:00 a.m.

Columbus Garden Club ladies love gardening and traditions. After all the CGC Plant Sale as been at Brookshire Bros. in Columbus for 32 years and club members have been planting trees and gardens all over their beloved community since practically the club began…. and that was in 1936 when they adopted the motto “A More Beautiful Community”.

In 2000 the club’s plant sales were so successful the club established a scholarship fund and has since awarded one or more scholarships annually to Columbus high school students. There will be a scholarship wagon full of gardening supplies that plant sale customers can win.

Plan to come early because many regular customers know some of the very best plants get boughtrightaway. And you will want to allow time to talk to the garden club members about the different plants you find at the sale. They have files of plant information that will be available to you.

Also there will be lots of cakes, pies, cookies and even frozen casseroles that you can take home and pop into the oven after your busy day shopping for beautiful plants.

Come by Brookshire Bros. in Columbus this Saturday morning April 27, 8:00 a.m. for a fun shopping experience, a great time enjoying talking about plants, gardening and yes even talk about baking/cooking with the ladies of the garden club.
