COLUMBUS — The John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation recently awarded St. Anthony Catholic School a $50,000 grant to assist the school with a security and safety upgrade of its Early Childhood Wing.
Grant funds allowed for the installation of four new security cameras, a new playground structure, and a new shade covering for the playground area. Both students and staff benefit from these improved security and safety features, and St. Anthony Catholic School is grateful for the generous financial support of this project.
The Kenedy Memorial Foundation is organized with the mission to support and fund mostly Catholic educational, charitable, and religious activities primarily in South Texas. It was founded in 1961 by Sarita Kenedy East, daughter of John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy and granddaughter of Mifflin and Petra Vela de Kenedy.
The organization honors the couple that gave birth to Sarita Kenedy East and has donated millions of dollars since its inception to help nurture and advance endeavors which contribute to the foundation’s core values.
St. Anthony Catholic School is affiliated with the Diocese of Victoria and offers classes from 3K through 8th grade.
