COLORADO COUNTY SHERIFF REPORT THURSDAY, FEB. 1

At approximately 8:24 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to the Auction Barn located at 2000 Reese Lane in reference to two stray cows. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

At approximately 9:50 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 2000 block of Walnut Street in Columbus in reference to the sexual assault of a minor. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

FRIDAY, FEB. 2

At approximately 10:57 a.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Lone Star Inn near Alleyton in reference to the subject’s trespassing on the property. A report was taken, and the suspects were instructed to leave Lone Star Inn. Case cleared. Information only.

At approximately 11:52 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to a public service regarding an indecent assault that occurred in the 1000 block of Country Club Lane in Columbus. He spoke with the complainant and obtained information to generate a report. The case is active.

SUNDAY, FEB. 4

At approximately 7:52 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 5100 block of West 3rd Street in Sheridan in reference to a stolen vehicle. On arrival, He met with the complainant and obtained information to conduct an investigation. The vehicle was later recovered in Lavaca County. There is no suspect at the time of this report. The case is active.

At approximately 8:31 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 6700 block of US Hwy 90 near Sealy in reference to an assault. After further investigation, the suspect, Roland Alaniz, age 37, of Houston, was cited for Assault By Contact. Case cleared.

TUESDAY, FEB. 6

At approximately 12:38 p.m., deputy Johnson conducted a traffic stop in the 5000 block of SH 71 S near Columbus. After further investigation, Arrion Denly, age 24, of Altair, was arrested for an out-of-county warrant issued by Hays County for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to the Dollar General in Garwood in reference to a subject wanting a criminal trespass warning issued to an individual. The case is active pending the serving of the trespass warning.

At approximately 8:07 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the intersection of FM 532 and FM 2144 in reference to property damage from a wrecked vehicle. After further investigation, it was determined the victim did not wish to pursue charges. Case is cleared.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to the 3000 block of CR 106 in Rock Island in reference to property damage. Information was taken for a report. The case will be inactive until further information is developed to identify the persons responsible.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 7

At approximately 6:30 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 3800 block of FM 949 in reference to a traffic accident involving livestock. Information was taken for the report, and the livestock owner had not been identified at the time of the report.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputy Gorman was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff ’s Office lobby in reference to an information call that occurred on Schobel Road in Columbus. Information was taken for the report. The case is inactive.

At approximately 11:09 a.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 1200 block of Struss Lane in reference to a stolen vehicle from Harris County. He arrived on the scene, verified the vehicle was stolen, and made a recovery. Information will be sent to Harris County. Case cleared by recovery.

At approximately 3:37 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to the 1800 block of County Road 210 in reference to property damage from livestock. After further investigation, the livestock owner was located and notified of the damages. The livestock owner and property owner exchanged information. The case is inactive.

At approximately 9:14 p.m., deputy Melendez was dispatched to the Colorado County Jail in reference to an assault. On arrival, He met with the victim and obtained information to generate a report. The case is active.

SUNDAY, FEB. 11

At approximately 8:05 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to Kansteiner Road in Columbus in reference to harassment. Information was taken to conduct an investigation. The case is cleared.

At approximately 4:18 p.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to Como Road in Columbus in reference to an unwanted subject on the property. After further investigation, a criminal trespass warning was issued. Case cleared.

MONDAY, FEB. 12

At approximately 1:30 p.m., deputy Zwahr was dispatched to Hwy 71 at the Business 71 Westbound exit ramp in reference to illegal dumping. He arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation. Information was taken for the report. Information only.

TUESDAY, FEB. 13

At approximately 11:24 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 4600 block of FM 102 regarding a Burglary. Upon arrival, He met with the complainant and obtained information to generate a report. Case inactive.

At approximately 11:44 a.m., deputy Lopez witnessed a traffic accident that occurred on private property. A cement truck overturned and flipped, crushing a fence. A report was generated for insurance purposes.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14

At approximately 9:42 a.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to the 1200 block of Ramsey Road in Alleyton in reference to burglary. After further investigation, information was received and a report was taken. Case is active.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., deputy Blaha conducted a traffic stop and the vehicle failed to yield. After further investigation, Mark Anthony Perez, 17, of Columbus, was arrested for evading arrest or detention. On Friday, March 15, 2024, Jonathan Green Jr, age 18, of Columbus, was arrested on his warrant for Evading Arrest/Detention - Misdemeanor A. Case cleared by adult arrest.

THURSDAY, FEB. 15

At approximately 2:58 a.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 681 mile marker of IH 10 in reference to a wrongway driver. After further investigation, the vehicle was stopped and the driver was taken to the Columbus Community Hospital for further evaluation. Case cleared.

FRIDAY, FEB. 16

At approximately 4:00 p.m., deputy Frey was advised of a public nuisance in the 400 block of Camp Street in Alleyton. After further investigation, the property owner was issued a Public Nuisance Warning. Case active.

SATURDAY, FEB. 17

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to Columbus Community Hospital in reference to an animal bite that occurred in the 1000 block of Judy Lane in Columbus. The owner was bitten by her own dog and was determined to be current on rabies vaccinations through the owners vaccination records provided at the hospital. Case cleared by report.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 2000 block of FM 1291 in New Ulm in reference to a theft. After further investigation, information was received and a report taken. Case is inactive.

SUNDAY, FEB. 18

At approximately 4:06 a.m., deputy Litvik was dispatched to the 5900 block of W Fourth Street in Sheridan in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, Michael White, age 23, of Wharton, was arrested for Resisting Arrest Search or Transport Misdemeanor A, Evading Arrest/Detention - Misdemeanor A, and two out of county warrants. Case cleared by adult arrest.
