Ladycats win back-to-back-to-back games

Ladycats win back-to-back-to-back games

The Weimar Ladycats played three district games last week because they had to make up a game from earlier in the season, regardless they won all three of them.

The traveled to Moulton and handled business on the road then welcomed Lousie to their home field and beat them in a double header.

@ Moulton, W, 22-10

The Ladycats and Moulton were in an offensive battle to start the game.

At the end of the first Moulton led 4-3 and after the second they led 9-7 and were feeling comfortable. In the fourth inning the Ladycats came back with a vengeance because they scored 12 runs to Moulton’s one.

The big fourth inning brought the score to 1910 in favor of the Ladycats and they added three more runs to extend the lead to 22-10 and they closed out the game with that score. The Ladycats were unphased by the early adversity Moulton gave them and carried that momentum into their double header with Louise.

Vs. Louise, W, 15-0

The Ladycats offense took over game one against Lousie early and did not let them have any offensive production.

Taylor Smith was back in the circle and had a zero in the hits and run categories all while striking out eight batters in four innings. So defense was well taken care of and they took advantage of every opportunity on offense.

Bevin Brenner, Chloe Grifaldo and Hannah Fisbeck each hit doubles in the game and helped drive home runs and the Ladycats close out the game in four innings because of their combined efforts.

Before the second game started the Ladycats took a minute to celebrate Parent’s Night and have the players deliver flowers to their parents to say thank you for the support.

Vs. Louise, W, 17-2 The Ladycats were feeling good after winning and sharing a moment with their parents and they came out in game two with even more energy than game one.

They jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the first inning and added three more runs in the second before winning via mercy rule and collecting their second win over Lousie.

They now look to their next game against Flatonia and a win in that game means the defending champs will be back in the playoffs looking to defend their title.

Claire Pavlu standing on second after recording a double.
