Weimar FFA heads to state

The Weimar FFA Chapter’s Farm and Agribusiness Management team has qualified for the State FFA Career Development Events to hosted by Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Friday, April 26.

The Weimar FFA Chapter’s Farm and Agribusiness Management team has qualified for the State FFA Career Development Events to hosted by Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Friday, April 26.

The team placed 1st at the Area CDEs held on April 2 at Sam Houston State. Individually, Logan Kainer placed 1st, Lauren Hinze placed 2nd, Kelly McAfee placed 3rd, Bralen Heger placed 4th, and Collin Morrison placed 6th.

In this event, students perform agribusiness calculations such as depreciation, loan repayments, profitability, future value of investments, and fertilizer application rates. Students also analyze production functions, partial and enterprise budgets, balance sheets, and futures market options.
