Columbus store celebrates milestone anniversary
COLUMBUS — Anyone walking through the produce or floral department at Brookshire Brothers will likely have none other than the store’s own Stephen Vasek greet them.
Stephen has been a staple at Brookshire Brothers for 45 years and was recently celebrated for reaching the milestone. On Friday, March 29, several regional representatives from Brookshire Brothers convened to help the store in Columbus celebrate the loyalty of one of their longtime members.
The store celebrated with cake and refreshments for those in attendance.
Vasek has held several positions throughout the store such as grocery manager, dairy department, office clerk, cashier and stocker. He has hit his stride as the produce and floral manager in recent years.
Recently retired Barbara Waddle was a celebrated veteran worker of 43 years herself and has plenty of experience working alongside Vasek.
“I know Stephen very and all of his many attributes,” Waddle said, “We were family and worked together as a team. Stephen is a devoted, caring, dependable, trustworthy, hardworking man.”
“He is always willing to lend a helping hand to customers and did whatever it too for the store to run properly and efficiently,” Waddle said, “Most of all, Stephen is well loved by all.”
The employees and managers at Brookshire Brothers #34 of Columbus congratulated Vasek for his 45 years of loyalty and exemplary service.
