St. Anthony holds events during Holy Week

During this sacred Holy Week, St. Anthony School students and faculty are praying and reflecting on the Passion of Jesus Christ to remember His suffering and ultimate sacrifice. On Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday), Saints will have a “washing of the feet” service at 8:15 a.m., and an early release at 1:15 p.m. There will be no school on Good Friday or Easter Monday.

On March 18, seven junior high Saints brought back 16 top 3 ribbons from the Fayetteville track meet. The first place winners were Ty Wiggs in shot put, Logan Glueck in the high jump and 400-meter race. Next week, practices will begin for softball, tennis and soccer.

Yesterday, St. Anthony eighth graders attended the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral in Victoria. Once a year, the diocesan Bishop, together with his Priests, consecrates the sacred Chrism and blesses the Oil of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open to current families and parishioners of St. Anthony and St. Roch. Registration will be open to the public on April 2.

Registration information and forms are available on the St. Anthony website at www.stanthonycolumbus.net “Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I commend my spirit’; and when he had said this he breathed his last.” (Luke 46)

Nice Spring weather allowed the 8th graders to spend time with PreK classes during their PE time. Tyler Watkins and Deacon Barten work on batting skills with the youngsters.
