Weimar Library gets ready for Easter weekend

Spring is here, which makes it a good time to stop by the local library for a visit.

Good Friday marks a long weekend ahead, so avid readers might need to spring themselves into a good book or even an awesome movie.

Do not forget to pick up the April Event Calendar for upcoming events at the Weimar Public Library.

The library will have a special guest in April; Cardboard Dolly Parton from Fayette Electric Cooperative, Inc. can be found in the lobby.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is to inspire a love of reading by gifting books free of charge from birth to age five.

Information can be found at the library or by visiting imaginationlibrary. com.

On Wednesday, April 3, the Library in Motion group will have “Tai Chi Movements Class” at 10 a.m.

Then, on Thursday, April 4, the library will have Family Storytime reading about “Spring Baby Animals” at 10 a.m., followed by Preschool Discovery Time with a “Matching Game” at 10:30 a.m.

On Friday, April 5, Friends of the Library will be hosting an Author Presentation with German Author Barbara Ortwein at 11 a.m. in the library. She will present her books and play her guitar as she invites attendees to sing along. RSVP by calling the library to reserve a seat.

Then, on Friday evening, the Beginner Crochet Class will meet with the adult group from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and then the youth group between 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Have a wonderful and safe Easter weekend. For those with questions on the above events or need to renew materials, please call the library at 979-725-6608 or email [email protected]/.
