Wellness Council visits Crisis Center for 10-year anniversary

Texana recently celebrated the 10th Anniversary of its Crisis Center in Rosenberg with an outdoor reception in the parking lot of the Center with large tents, flowers, music and an abundance of food for those attending on Tuesday, March 12.

Texana recently celebrated the 10th Anniversary of its Crisis Center in Rosenberg with an outdoor reception in the parking lot of the Center with large tents, flowers, music and an abundance of food for those attending on Tuesday, March 12.

Tours were given of the facility that revealed the functioning of the facility is able to meet the psychological, physical, emotional and social needs of those who go there because of a mental health crisis.

The Texana Crisis Center provides an Extended Observation Unit and a Crisis Residential Unit for adults aged 18 and up who are low income, uninsured, or have Medicaid. The Texana Crisis Center is accessed only by calling the Mental Health Crisis Hotline and receiving a screening by the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team in the community. Texana’s Crisis Center is not open to the public and is NOT a drop off center.

Texana provides an array of services to both those with Mental Health Disorders as well as those with Intellectual Developmental Disorders. Their mission is to deliver positive life changing services to children and adults with mental health issues, autism, and developmental disabilities. Texana serves 6 counties including Colorado County with a Behavioral Health Clinic located in Columbus on Walnut Street and an IDD Workshop in Eagle Lake.
