The Weimar VFW Auxiliary to Post 5875 met for its regular meeting on March 12 with 7 members present. The meeting was opened according to the Ritual by President Charlene Muras.
Correspondence was read by Secretary Marty Heinrich including thank you notes, receipts and bills. Email was read by Charlene Muras regarding membership, the next District meeting on April 6 in Hallettsville and draping of the charter for a past National VFW Auxiliary President.
There are currently 16 annual members and 20 life members for a total of 36 members.
The next Men’s Coffee at Parkview will be on March 15. Dolores Lauck reported that flag etiquette programs at Weimar schools for 55 students have been completed, patriotic books have been placed in school libraries and school kid art contest information has been delivered. Charlene Muras presented Korie Fogleman with a pin and certificate for her position as National Home Ambassador.
The Auxiliary Bake Sale will be on Saturday, April 13 at MG and Kasper’s.
Members are to bring home-baked goods or make a monetary donation if unable to bake.
The Hallettsville Veteran’s Dinner will be on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a. m.
Members voted to donate to the love gift for out-going Department President Susie Carter and to the National Home unrestricted fund.
The next District meeting will be on Saturday, April 6 in Hallettsville.
The Charter was draped in memory of past National VFW Auxiliary President, Patricia Jankowski who passed away on March 3.
The next meeting will be on April 9 at 6 p.m. at the Weimar VFW Hall kitchen.
