The Weimar Ladycats played three games in three days and went 1-2 in those three games.

They played Ganado, Needville and Gonzales during this stretch and some went better than others.

@ Ganado, L, 6-4

They started things off with a hard-fought loss against Ganado on Tuesday, March 12.

The Ladycats held an early 2-1 lead that lasted until the fifth inning when Ganado broke through. Ganado scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth to bring the score to 6-2 heading into the seventh inning.

In the final inning the Ladycats had one last chance to rally, and they were able to get two runs on the board. Unfortunately, Ganado secured three outs to end the inning and handed the Ladycats a loss.

With a chance to bounce back the next day in a game against Needville the Ladycats wanted to build on that late push they had against Ganado.

@ Needville, L, 10-0

This is where things got rocky for the Ladycats because they got blown out in their second game.

Needville came out and took the game right to the Ladycats and never let them have any space. They knew how dangerous the Ladycats can be if they are given some space because they are so talented and opportunistic.

Needville kept their foot on the gas all game long and the Ladycats had to look at themselves in the mirror after the game. They knew they did not play up to standards and it cost them big time in the second game.

They knew they had to hear some brutally honest reviews of themselves after that game and come into game three with a sense of urgency and pride to get a win.

Vs Gonzales, W, 3-2

Looking to get back into the win column the Ladycats turned in a gritty and tough performance that resulted in a win for the Ladycats.

Pitcher Taylor Smith turned in a 10-strikeout performance against Gonzales, only allowing three hits, and added a home run on the offensive side of the ball. Smith had a monster game for the Ladycats, and the result was that they picked up a much-needed win.

The Ladycats next game is against Flatonia on the road on Friday, March 22, where they will look to pick up another district win.
