The Weimar Ladycats battled against cold temperatures and howling wind during their host golf tournament but turned in a great performance.
The Ladycats faced their fair share of adversity with the weather being as crazy as it was but then they had to play a challenging course.
The Ladycats biggest challenge came on hole three. It is a par four, but from the tee box there is a pond in front of it, and before the ball reaches the fair way, it must fly over the driveway to the course.
Already it is very intimidating because from where they were teeing off the pond is directly in front of them. So naturally being amateur golfers it is a challenge to get the ball up and over just the pond sometimes.
Then they had to be mindful of cars passing and there’s just a lot to think about lining up for that hole. The Ladycats managed it well though, it is their home course so they knew different areas where they could hit their ball and still have a chance to stay in play.
They used this to their advantage and once they got past hole three the Ladycats were cruising through the course. Harley Thornhill, Hannah Hillje and Cheyenne Booker turned in scores of 106, 121 and 116 respectively.
While those scores seem a little high, Weimar Golf Course is not an easy course to play, again look at hole three. It’s a course full of hills and dips as well as water hazards to navigate that is challenging and to be under 130 is something that needed to be recognized.
The Ladycats are still working to get better and better each day, they will be working at the range and the course to sharpen their skills as the next tournament looms in the distance.
