The Columbus Cardinals baseball team is off to a hot start this season starting the year 7-1.

The Cardinals’ offense has been humming to start the season as they have dominated games early.

In their first five game the Cards outscored opponents 48-17 but crazy enough in that stretch of five games they were handed their lone loss. The loss came from Bellville, and it was by a score of 3-2.

It was their first road game of the year and they only lost by one run, obviously they did not let that affect them too much moving forward. In their next three games, they proved that, scoring 27 runs while only allowing four runs scored against.

The Cardinals are playing very disciplined baseball while remaining aggressive to start the season and it is paying off in a big way. Knowing their district schedule is right around the corner the Cardinals are hard at work establishing that identity.

They don’t force plays and they don’t chirp back and forth too much with the other teams. They show up to play, they follow and execute their game plan and take what teams give them.

Every player on the Cardinals has seemingly bought into this style of play making their lineup even more dangerous, and they know that. They feel confident in their ability and their talent to make some noise this season.

They will get their first taste of district play this Tuesday, March 5 against Industrial where they will get a better idea of what they need to do to capture a district title.
