Texas A&M School of Public Health recently held its annual Career and Practicum Fair allowing Master and Doctoral Students to meet with a variety of city, county and non-profit agencies who may have available internship positions.

Representatives of The Wellness Council of Greater Colorado Valley participated, seeking to better understand what students might be available for Colorado County entities and what sponsorship of a student requires from the local entity.

Currently, The Wellness Council has a fourth-year doctoral student that has brought a tremendous amount of skill, programs and energy to the Council’s work; internships can be a big win-win for the entity and student.

All nonprofits, city, counties and state entities may request an intern to do a rotation within their organization. Master level graduate students usually serve their rotations during the summer months while Doctoral Students do their practicum over two to three years. For organizations that are interested and would like more details, contact either Tracy Lilie at 979-732-0648 or Dr. Mazie Leftwich 281-844-0212.
