SAN ANTONIO — After a strong season with top performances all year, the Columbus swim team put the cherry on top of their season with more good results at the UIL State swim meet. Their record-setting performances in the prelims as well as their qualification to the Finals cemented this season as one of the best seasons in Columbus swim history.

Rayce Johnson, Cade Neumann, Justin Strauss and Colby Williams made up a relay team that set new school records for each relay race in which they participated. For the freestyle relays, the team took seventh place in the 200-yard race, and ninth place in the 400-yard race. They took 10th place as a team in the 400-yard medley race, while Johnson snatched 12th place in his solo act during the 50-yard freestyle.

The boys qualified for the Finals in every freestyle race following their performance in prelims. Johnson finished the Finals heat for the 50 Free in 14th place. The relay team finished in seventh place again in the Finals for the 200 Free, and they took 10th in 400 Free.
