Brenda Boehm has been chosen the Garden Angel for Columbus Garden Club 2023-24.

Brenda has been in the garden club for eleven years. While working fulltime, she has managed to faithfully attend meetings and participate in almost all Club projects and activities. Brenda’s first paying job was at Monument Hill Nursing Home in La-Grange where she worked in the activity department with the residents. That is where she learned to love people and she developed her giving heart.

She routinely helps set up the club’s meeting rooms, assists elderly members, plants pots and waters around the Courthouse Square, and helps decorate downtown for the Fall season as well as decorate the County Fairgrounds entrance for the Colorado County Fair. She has chaired the club’s Bake Sale many times, the Scholarship Wagon, Brookwood Volunteer Program, the E-Cycle program, and worked the Trash Off Event.

Also, being one of the club’s younger members, Brenda is eager and willing to be available for lifting, digging, and carrying. She is greatly appreciated.

She is married to Shawn Schubert and has two daughters and five grandchildren. She also has three stepchildren with five step grandchildren.

Columbus Garden Club has been the beneficiary of Brenda’s devotion to the club for many years.
