SHERIFF’S REPORT

TUESDAY, DEC. 5

At approximately 4:28 p.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to a call regarding a vehicle purchased from Facebook Marketplace and ultimately discovered to be stolen. Information was gathered and a report was taken. Case pending further investigation.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 6

At approximately 11:55 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to State Highway 71 and Main Street in Altair in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, Claudio Gonzales, age 61, of Garwood, Tx, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member - misdemeanor A, resisting arrest search or transport - misdemeanor A, and assault peace officer - Felony 2. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 7:03 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to 4400 US 90 Hwy, Alleyton, Tx in reference to an assault call. After further investigation it was determined the aggressor had left the scene prior to his arrival. The victim ultimately did not wish to pursue any charges. Case cleared by information.

FRIDAY, DEC. 8

At approximately 6:26 a.m., deputy Ohl responded to the 1200 block of Ramsey Road in Alleyton in reference to an animal attack on livestock. After further investigation, the owner was issued a citation for certain dogs prohibited from running at large. Case cleared.

At approximately 1:23 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 100 block of Shult Drive in reference to an assault that occurred in Sheridan. After further investigation, information was received and multiple warrants were issued on the suspect. Case active pending apprehension.

At approximately 3:41 p.m., deputy Villanueva was dispatched to the 4800 block of S. IH10 Road in reference to a theft. He gathered information and a report was taken.

SATURDAY, DEC. 9

At approximately 2:36 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to IH-10 EB rest area 692 in reference to a child locked in a vehicle. After further investigation, the child was safely removed from the vehicle and no other action was taken. Case cleared.

At approximately 4:14 p.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the area of Walnut St and Fannin St regarding agency assistance. After further investigation, the suspect that was trespassing was detained and released to Columbus Police Department on their charges. Case cleared.

SUNDAY, DEC. 10

At approximately 11:01 p.m., deputy Litvik conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hwy 71 near Nada. After further investigation, Angel Silerio, age 25, of Dallas, Tx was arrested and charged with an out-ofcounty warrant. Case cleared by adult arrest.

TUESDAY, DEC. 12

At approximately 1:19 p.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to Annette Drive in Columbus in reference to a disturbance involving dogs. Case cleared by report.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to County Road 2103 in Weimar regarding dogs attacking his livestock. After further investigation, a report was taken, and the case is pending further investigation.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 13

At approximately 9:27 p.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 4800 block of IH-10 in Alleyton regarding an unwanted subject. After further investigation, a criminal trespass warning was issued to the subject. Case cleared.

THURSDAY, DEC. 14

At approximately 10:30 a.m., deputy Weido was dispatched to Leona Lane in Columbus in reference to a theft. On arrival, He met with the complainant and obtained information to conduct an investigation. Case is active.

FRIDAY, DEC. 15

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputy Weido received a phone call from a complainant in reference to his livestock being shot in the 1200 block of FM 806 in Columbus. On arrival, He made contact with the complainant, taking information to conduct an investigation. Case is active.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., deputy Mican was dispatched to the Rice Medical Center for a patient being treated for a dog bite. The dog had current vaccinations. Case closed.

SATURDAY, DEC. 16

At approximately 9:21 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to a public service in reference to mail theft near County Road 217, Weimar, Tx. Information was taken to conduct an investigation.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., deputy Blaha was dispatched to the 1000 block of Buck Road in reference to an animal call. After further investigation a report was taken.

SUNDAY, DEC. 17

At approximately 9:33 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to Glen Flora Road, Eagle Lake, in reference to theft.

MONDAY, DEC. 18

At approximately 4:52 p.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to IH-10 near Double Creek Road regarding a motor vehicle accident. After further investigation, a crash report was taken. Case cleared.

TUESDAY, DEC. 19

At approximately 1:13 a.m., deputy Litvik was dispatched to E Church St., Weimar, Tx, to assist Weimar P.D. with a disturbance that progressed to an assault. After further investigation, Weimar P.D. arrested a subject. Case is a supplement to Weimar P.D.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 5000 block of Avenue B Street, Sheridan, Tx, regarding credit/debit card abuse. Information was taken to conduct an investigation. The case is active.

At approximately 10:47 p.m., deputy Litvik was dispatched to Hwy 90A in front of Splashway in Sheridan in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, a subject was issued a citation for assault by contact.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20

At approximately 10:30 a.m., deputy Nino was dispatched to Hwy 90A in Altair regarding an unwanted subject and theft. The case was resolved between the parties. The case is cleared.

THURSDAY, DEC. 21

At approximately 1:19 p.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to Boulden Street, Garwood, Tx in reference to a stolen firearm. The firearm was entered into TCIC/NCIC database as stolen. The case will be inactive until further information is developed.

FRIDAY, DEC. 22

At approximately 9:56 a.m., deputy Ohl arrived at Ih-10 near Alleyton in reference to an abandoned vehicle. After further investigation, the car was towed from the roadway and entered as stored and abandoned in TCIC/NCIC. Case cleared.

SUNDAY, DEC. 24

At approximately 1:21 a.m., deputy Litvik was dispatched to the area of EMS station 3 at Hwy 90A and Old Altair Road in reference to a vehicle parked in the roadway. After further investigation, Rodney J Rodriguez, age 35, of Eagle Lake, was arrested and charged with Obstruct Highway Passageway (MB). Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 1:06 a.mThe Sheriff’s Office received a transferred call from Fayette County regarding a vehicle possibly impersonating an officer of Hwy 71. The vehicle was located, probable cause was developed for a stop, and the driver was identified and later released.

At approximately 6:44 a.m., deputy Melendez initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Hwy 90A and FM 3013 in Altair. Upon further investigation, the driver, Julius Alex, age 22, of Eagle Lake, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Waller County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and transported to the Colorado County jail without incident.

At approximately 11:46 p.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the 1100 block of County Road 215 regarding property damage. After further investigation, the suspect was located in Oak Ridge Ranch. Case active, pending charges.

At approximately 12:04 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to the 300 block of Boulden Street in reference to trespassing. Information was taken to generate a report, and Criminal Trespass Warnings were issued. The case is cleared.

At approximately 6:22 p.m., deputy Melendez was dispatched to the IH10 South feeder road near Emmel Lane in reference to a vehicle fire. Columbus Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. No injuries were sustained.

TUESDAY, DEC. 26

At approximately 8:25 a.m., deputy Cantu was dispatched to Schidler Road in reference to property damage caused by a vehicle that left the scene. An investigation was conducted, and the responsible vehicle and operator were located. The case is cleared by the completion of a crash report.

THURSDAY, DEC. 28

At approximately 9:46 a.m., deputy Ohl was dispatched to the area of Brushy Road and State Hwy 71 regarding a deceased bull. After further investigation, information was received, and a report was made. Information only. Case cleared.

SATURDAY, DEC. 30

At approximately 11:07 p.m., deputy Blaha was dispatched to the 2200 block of Walnut Street in reference to an assault. After further investigation, Clinton Payne, age 51, of Victoria, Tx was arrested for Injury Child/Elderly/ Disabled with intent Bodily Injury - Felony 3. Case cleared by adult arrest.
