I am 53 years old. I am the current constable of precinct 4 for Colorado County. I received my peace officer license in 1991 before I began working with the city of Richwood Police Department in Brazoria County for 10 and a half years. I’ve been a volunteer firefighter for about 32 years and have been serving as chief for the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department for the past seven years.

My years of experience help set me apart from other candidates. I’ve got a 2-year associate degree in law enforcement and have plenty of experience in patrol and investigations. I was born and raised in Colorado County and Eagle Lake. I moved back to CC in 2002 and got involved in our family business in Eagle Lake. In 2002, I ran as a write-in candidate for the Constable of Precinct 4 position. Running as a write-in was unprecedented in Colorado County, but after winning that, I became the first write-in candidate to win and hold the position for Constable of Precinct 4 where I have held office for 22 years.

I think voters should trust me because I represent an important family heritage as a native to Colorado County. My mother served for years in the county, and those that know our family name understand the spirit of service that comes with it. I will continue to show the dedication to serving this community that my family has shown through generations.

Law enforcement is my life. It’s not only been my career, but also my passion. I’ve enjoyed the civil process part of law enforcement and the opportunity to work with people during critical times. My ability to deal with people during these critical times has proven to be a positive for my position. I think that there’s a lot of times that law enforcement goes south, and that’s not where we want to be. Laws are laws, but morals are important. I use my strong moral code to help me make decisions and deal with situations that may be difficult to approach for most.

The main part of this job is civil process, of which I’ve gotten several hours of annual and special training and experience during my time here. My experience in service as well as my belief system are why I’ve worked so hard for the people of Precinct 4. I’ve appreciated the support of Precinct 4 voters over the last two decades, and I hope they keep supporting me during this upcoming election.
