My name is Will Schneider, I am 41 years old and I’m seeking election for Colorado County Justice of the Peace precinct 3. I’m the oldest son of Rhonda and the late Henry Schneider and a lifelong resident of Colorado County. I am happily married to my wife Racheal of 21 years, and we are the proud parents of an 18-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son.
I graduated from Columbus high school in the year 2000 and began my welding career at my father’s local business. In 2003 I attended the Wharton County junior college fire academy and EMS training becoming a certified firefighter/EMT. I worked part time for Colorado County EMS and full time at a paid fire department in the Houston area, all while maintaining nearly full-time employment with my father.
Ultimately, I chose to leave the paid fire service and remain only at our family business Schneider Machine & Welding of which I am now the owner. I am a member of St. Anthony, and St. Roch Catholic churches, a life member and current President of the Columbus FFA Alumni, and I’ve served for 23 years now on various committees of the Colorado County Fair. I coached little league baseball for a few years and continue to cook at their annual BBQ fundraiser.
I was a member of the Bernardo Vol fire dept for 5 years until moving into the City of Columbus, serving as a firefighter and Assistant chief. I was also a member of the Columbus Vol fire department, moving up the ranks from firefighter, Lieutenant, and then to Captain. I retired last year after nearly 21 years of service.
I’m proud of my past and ongoing service to my community and feel the Justice of the Peace position is an interesting way to continue my service to others. I’m aware of the many duties of a Justice of the Peace, and I’m truly excited to begin learning the details of the office, and the law, if elected.
Because I grew up here and have lived and worked in Colorado County, I know its people and its history well.
If elected, I will exhibit fairness, integrity and compassion to the people I will serve and will handle all legal proceedings and apply the rule of law without bias or prejudice. I humbly ask for your vote as your precinct 3 Justice of the Peace. Put my smalltown family values, common sense, and dedication to work for you in Colorado County.
