The Weimar Wildcats hopes of making the playoffs were extinguished after losing to Ganado last week.

Things started off very promising for the Wildcats as they started the week defeating Louise, but they needed to win out if they were going to have a chance.

Vs. Louise, 55-38, W The Wildcats came into this game ready to make a statement and they delivered. They took control of the game from the opening tip off and never looked back.

They spread the floor out well offensively and found multiple lanes to the basket. The scoring touch was also on the Wildcats side as seemingly every possession led to points for them.

They also controlled pace of play on the defensive end of the floor keeping Louise on the perimeter and making sure any play in the paint was one by the Wildcats.

They finished off Louise to boost their confidence as they prepared for Ganado.

@ Ganado, 57-50, L

The Wildcats rolled into Ganado looking for their second win of the week and an opportunity to springboard themselves into the playoff conservation.

Ganado was already out of the playoffs and had nothing to lose so they were looking to play spoiler and put the Wildcats playoff hopes to bed.

The Wildcats went down fighting though and came ready to play. It was a very close and intense game for both teams with Ganado gaining the edge in the contest.

The Wildcats made one final push to try to even things up and force the game to go to overtime but could not find that last bit of luck necessary to get there and ended up losing to Ganado.

The Wildcats just could not get the rim to cooperate with them and now find themselves on the outside looking in for playoffs.

With playoffs out of the question for the Wildcats they look ahead to their next couple of games against Bloomington and Schulenburg on Friday, Feb. 9, and Tuesday, Feb. 13, respectively.
